About miniocity™
Small Models. Big Ideas. A Passion for Detail.
Welcome to miniocity™ – a family-run business with a passion for model railways, fresh ideas and doing things a little differently!
We're a husband-and-wife team who created miniocity™ after spotting some very obvious gaps in the model railway market. As modellers and enthusiasts ourselves, we could see products that we felt were missing, particularly when it came to modern-image modelling.
Rather than simply wishing someone would make them, we decided to do something about it ourselves!
It All Started with a Gap in the Market...
Our journey began with a simple observation: while there were plenty of traditional model railway buildings available, there was a noticeable lack of truly modern-image card kits.
We wanted to offer something different. Buildings that reflected the world around us today, rather than just the railway scenes of decades gone by. Modern, realistic, affordable models that would help fellow enthusiasts bring their layouts to life.
And so, miniocity™ was born!
But once we'd started looking at what was missing from the hobby, we realised that modern buildings were just the tip of the iceberg!
More Than Just Model Buildings
As miniocity™ has grown, so has our ambition.
We're continually identifying opportunities to introduce products that we believe modellers genuinely want, need and, in some cases, have been waiting far too long for!
Today, our expanding range includes:
-
Modern-image card kits – where it all began, bringing contemporary buildings and structures to model railway layouts.
-
ScaleWorks™ resin buildings – our exciting range of detailed, hand-painted resin buildings, designed to add realism and character to any layout.
-
Figures and accessories – those all-important little details that make a model railway feel alive, from people and animals to everyday items.
-
Scenic products – helping modellers create realistic landscapes, surroundings and finishing touches.
-
Our 'game-changing' acrylic paint pens – an innovative and incredibly useful addition to any modeller's toolbox, making those fiddly painting jobs quicker, easier and more enjoyable.
And we're not stopping there!
OO Gauge and TT:120 – Twice the Opportunity!
While miniocity™ initially focused on OO gauge (1:76 scale), we've recognised the growing enthusiasm for British TT:120 (1:120 scale) and, importantly, the gaps in the products available to TT modellers.
That's why we're expanding into TT:120 alongside OO gauge, including plans to make our ScaleWorks™ resin buildings available in both scales.
We believe TT:120 enthusiasts deserve the same variety, quality and choice that OO modellers enjoy, and we're excited to play our part in helping this increasingly popular scale grow.
Big Ideas, Without Big Price Tags
One thing that's incredibly important to us is value for money.
We believe enjoying this wonderful hobby shouldn't have to cost a fortune. Whether it's a pack of figures, a beautifully detailed resin building or one of our innovative acrylic paint pens, our aim is to offer quality products at prices that make sense.
We're always looking for smarter ways to design, develop and manufacture products, without losing sight of what matters most to our customers.
We also love a little innovation! Our acrylic paint pens are a perfect example of this. They're designed to make modelling jobs easier, and hearing customers describe them as a "game changer" is exactly the sort of feedback that inspires us to keep developing new ideas.

A Small Business with Big Ambitions
Being a husband-and-wife team means miniocity™ is very much a personal venture.
We're not a faceless corporation. We're real people, passionate about what we're building, and genuinely excited every time we introduce something new.
We listen to our customers, value their suggestions and are always interested to hear what products they'd like to see next. In fact, some of our best ideas come from simply asking ourselves, or fellow modellers, "Why doesn't somebody make one of those?"
Our aim isn't necessarily to make the same things everyone else is making. It's to find the missing pieces, introduce fresh ideas and offer something genuinely useful and a little different.
Come Along for the Journey!
miniocity™ is constantly evolving, with exciting new products, ideas and developments in the pipeline for both OO gauge and TT:120.
